MY NAME IS KHAN assumes more importance because the hottest on-screen Bollywood couple of the last fifteen years, Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol shot together for a full fledged project after almost 8 years. The momentous day was January 7 2009! And now we have news that SRK and Kajol have finished their Los Angeles schedule and have left the city last week. From March-May they will shoot in Mumbai and complete the Indian portions. They are scheduled to be back in the US (San Francisco) in June to wrap up the last parts. After that the film will go into post production.

First,’Veer’  Salman Khan’s Scripted Mythology, and after that he goes back to his dreams ‘London Dreams’ i.e., where he entertains the audiences as a pop star.

Akshay Kumar brings to the big screen a wide variety of flicks and what’s more we get to watch him. first in line, we have ‘Chandni Chowk to China’, a kungfu hit you won’t want to miss. Next up is an action thriller ‘Blue’.'Kambakht Ishq’ worth 80 crores and has a super star cast, the likes of Silvester Stallon, Denise Richards, Kareena Kapoor and of course Akshay Kumar. Now that sounds like fun, but Akshay doesn’t stop there, at the end of this most spectacular year, Akshay turns producer and gives us ‘De Dhanadhan’.

Aamir Khan  with his one big release every year and 2009 is no different, we can look forward to his big budget release ‘3 Idiots’.

Shahrukh Khan is following in the foot steps of Aamir when it comes to one big movie a year, so for 2009 Shahrukh Khan gives us ‘My Name is Khan‘.

The B-town will get the answer to this question on December 12 when ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’ will be released. This movie also will be the coming back movie for Aditya Chopra as a director after eight years.

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, who is currently busy with the Indian Premier League (IPL) cricket matches starting from April 18, will begin shooting for `Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’.

The movie marks the return of Aditya Chopra as a director after eight years.

Amitabh has been cast reportedly opposite Sonam Kapoor, daughter of veteran actor Anil Kapoor, in the film which trade circles describe as a love story between a 40-year-old man and a 16-year-old girl.

However, sources in Yash Raj films are tight lipped on the cast opposite Khan as well as the film’s story which will be set in Punjab.

Slated for release on December 12, Sanjeev Kohli, Director and CEO of YashRaj films, said that for the past eight years, Aditya has put his energies on building Yash Raj Films into India’s first production house built on the studio model and shaping it into a creative nerve centre that has nurtured some of India’s best screenwriters, directors and stars.

According to sources, superstar Shah Rukh Khan will begin shooting for ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’ in May. Big B too plays a significant role in this movie. Sonam Kapoor will be playing the love interest of King Khan.

Different rumours about the storyline of the film are poping up each day, but from what we have heard this flick will zoom in on the love story between a 40-year-old and a teenaged girl.

Well if that’s the real subject of the movie, we will just have to watch on how Aditya Chopra gives his refreshing touch to this love story.

Given his amazing ways of presenting love stories, people will expect something that can break the record that ‘Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge’ attained.

After this hiatus of eight years away from direction, Aditya must be having something quite fresh and exiting up his sleeve.

So let’s expect another milestone and record from the Yashraj Camp this time!

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan received the best actor award for his performance in the Yash Raj Films’ super hit film “Chak De! India”.

Kareena Kapoor walked away with the best actress trophy for her comic portrayal of a young Sikh girl in “Jab We Met” at a glittering presentation ceremony at the MMRDA Ground in the Bandra-Kurla Complex in northwest Mumbai Sunday.

FTPGI hosts its own award ceremony to honour Indian artistes as well as creative and technical personalities from the film industry every year.

The trophies are known as “Apsara” awards.

While “Chak De! India” was chosen the best movie of 2007, its director Shimit Amin bagged the trophy for the best director.

A Pakistani television channel, ARY Gold, also honoured actor Hrithik Roshan as the Best Male Style Icon of the year at the ceremony.

The star, however, could not make it to the ceremony. His father, filmmaker Rakesh Roshan, received the trophy on his behalf. Katrina Kaif bagged the Best Female Style Icon ARY Gold trophy.

Akshay Kumar, who churned out the maximum number of hits last year, was adjudged the “Entertainer of the Year” by the FTPGI jury.

The tongue-in-cheek banter between the two Khans of Bollywood has moved a step further. It began on few days ago when Aamir said at an event that Shah Rukh is number 2.

In response, SRK was no less witty and had accepted with sarcastic humility that it was a compliment to him to come on second spot after Aamir, who, SRK said, is indeed number one.

Now, when mediapersons told Aamir about SRK’s response and asked for his reaction, Aamir said with a broad smile: “Mujhe khushi hai ki usne maan liya” (I am glad that he has accepted that he is number. 2.

Of course it was said in good humour and the whole gathering of media persons broke out in laughter. Let us see what SRK would have to say to that.

Bhansali and Farah went on to assist filmmakers Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Mansoor Khan on Parinda and Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander respectively. Strengthening Bhansali as one of looked upon figure of Bollywood, but surprising was yet to come. In 2005, Bhansali came up with “breakthrough cinema”, “critically-acclaimed”, “beautifully crafted” et al BLACK.
Coming to Saawariya, Saawariya is adaptation of Fryodor Dostoevsky’s short story White Nights. Russian authors are known for their dark, depressing love stories about unrequited love, with most of the stories ending in agony, nervousness and depression. As a screenplay, the story is best.

On the other hand,Farah  won accolades for her dance directing skills with songs like Dhol bajne laga (Virasat), Chaiyyan Chaiyyan (Dil Se..) and Idhar chala (Koi… Mil Gaya). Her work in Mira Nair’s Monsoon Wedding and Vanity Fair and the Broadway musical, Bombay Dreams, gave her international exposure. The latter also earned her a nomination, along with Anthony Van Laast, at the prestigious Tony Awards in 2004.

Her dream of making films became a reality when buddy SRK decided to produce and star in her debut, Main Hoon Na. Not only did Farah successfully introduce the audience to a ’spoof’, but she also went on to become the first ever lady director to be nominated for a Filmfare award in the Best Director category.

Om Shanti Om is Farah’s second film as opposed to Saawariya , which is Bhansali’s fifth film. Although both directors launch newcomers, model turned actress Deepika Padukone (OSO).Bhansali introduce to Rishi and Neetu Kapoor’s son Ranbir and Anil Kapoor’s daughter Sonam, who debut in Saawariya,

So, Let’s see who will be the king of audience heart.

There is a reason why Bhansali is launching fresh faces. According to him, “I think the audience is tired and fed up of the 40-year-old hero. They want to see fresh, young faces. And that is why I am presenting to movie-goers, the chance to see new faces. How long do you think women will swoon over 40-year-old heroes?”

Ironically, Bhansali has stated that he believes in competition, because that inspires you and makes you work harder. If he is mocking Shahrukh, then it is not a big deal. All is fair in love and war.

Shah Rukh khan literally went on a diet control for four months and also worked out hard to get into shape quickly.

Says Shah Rukh, “I am feeling good and healthy. Salman Khan and Hrithik Roshan were very co-operative. Infact, I showed them my pictures before commencing shooting. They said I was good and needed to improve further.”

Thereby, he is wishing that both the films – Om Shanti Om and Saawariya do well at the box office.

Says King Khan, “Besides, Rani and Salman who are in Saawariya, I have lot of love for debutants Ranbir and Sonam who respect me tremendously. Hence, I pray for both the movies. But, after all Om Shanti Om is my child.”
