‘Hrithik hurt his arm while doing a stunt shot for ‘Kites’ at the Filmistan studio. He was breaking a glass with a rod and one piece of glass flew and hurt him. It’s a minor injury – there’s nothing major.

Hrithik suffered many injuries after he performed some daring stunts in ‘Krrish’ and ‘Dhoom 2′.

He had torn the ligament in his right knee and continued working despite the pain. Towards the latter half of 2008, Hrithik underwent surgery in the US and spent nearly two months recovering but his tryst with injuries continues.

‘Kites’, directed by Anurag Basu, is being touted as featuring Hrithik’s most sensuous role till date. He stars opposite US-based Spanish model Barbara Mori.

The film is about an Indian boy’s romantic affair with a Latina girl and their predicament as they do not understand each other’s language. It also stars actress Kangana Ranaut.

He got the nomination for two songs composed by him “O Saya” and “Jai Ho”. The film also was nominated in the sound editing and sound mixing categories.

The 81st annual Academy Awards will be held Sunday, Feb 22, at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood and will be broadcast live in over 200 countries around the world.

A masala flick it is, and a pretty good one at that. Unlike remakes released in the recent past , CC2C doesn’t try to be too serious: instead, it offers comedy, drama and some brilliant stunts that Akshay Kumar not only fits into very easily, but also very clearly enjoys.

Chandni Chowk to China is about Sidhu, a clumsy looser who counts his success and growth on luck. In attempts to become something big in life and not remain a vegetable cutter throughout his life, he visits astrologers, tarot readers and baba’s in search of anything that possibly could bring him some luck. Despite all the efforts from his dada (Mithun Chakroborty), Sidhu continues to believe the conmen in the disguise of saints. Meanwhile, two Chinese men come in search of Sidhu claiming him to be the reincarnation of their long dead war idol asking for help to save their village from the clutches of Hojo (Gordon Liu). Falling to the words of swindler Chopstick (Ranvir Shorey), Sidhu delightfully sets forth to China without having a slightest idea of the danger that’s awaiting him. Throughout his journey, Sidhu dreams of his royal life with his love interest (Deepika Padukone). What happens to Sidhu when reality strikes him? Will he be able to stand against evil?

The movie is strongly reminiscent of the seventies Bollywood movies complete with lost at birth babies, tearful reunions and heroes singlehandedly fending off the evil guys. Well, the latter is reminiscent of Kung Fu movies. In fact CC2C is a Kung-Fu Bollywood fusion, the first of its kind. Another first for this movie is that it is backed by Warner Bros. Surprising that Warner got itself into such an unoriginal venture and plans a sequel!
However, making box office predictions is quite impossible.

In addition, the Akshay Kumar starrer will also be released in 40 international markets, opening day-and-date with North America in 25 markets.

Chandni Chowk to China, the biggest and the widest release of 2009, has also shown such confidence and has decided to take a full-on approach with a late evening release on Thursday, 15th January.

With huge demand for the film which is showing an exponential rise practically every day, the film will be shown on as many as 650 paid preview shows across the country on Thursday.

Google also found out that Katrina is amongst the fastest rising items searched. She is even more popular in Pakistan. It’s no surprise because she had a string of hit films last year, especially with Akshay Kumar. Her film Partner with boyfriend Salman Khan was also a big hit.

She is packing her bags to fly off to Ladakh for a 20-day schedule with Aamir Khan for Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s 3 Idiots based on Chetan Bhagat’s famous novel “Five Point Someone” about three IIT students and the problems they face while studying in the institute.

The first scene starts with Madhavan boarding a jetliner. Director Rajkumar Hirani who is quite thrilled with the project says, “We are literally off to a flying start. It was amazing to shoot inside a real aircraft. We are really excited and raring to go.”

The film stars Aamir Khan, R Madhavan, Sharman Joshi, Boman Irani and Kareena Kapoor. The shooting commenced on Tuesday in Mumbai and the makers is optimistic to complete it by December.

The movie tells the story of Rajeev ( Sudeep ), a builder and a staunch atheist with a family comprising of a loving wife ( Amrita Khanvilkar ), two kids Raksha ( Ahsaas Chana ) and Rohan (Shrey), and a religious mother.

A non-believer in God or Devil, Rajiv’s world and his belief system goes topsy-turvy when an evil is let loose in his house and the most affected is his daughter Raksha who begins behaving in strange ways.

The doctors say Raksha suffers from “psycho dissassociative disorder” but offer no conclusive cure. Not long before it’s clear that a black magic spell has been cast on Rajeev’s family by some malicious ill-wishers. It’s a spell that only an exorcist can break.

Unlike any pulpy horror flick, ‘Phoonk’ doesn’t scare you with its gory details but by gradually building up your anticipation regarding what would unfold on the screen. Varma’s technical prowess does come handy to this effect but there are a couple of scenes where the filmmaker overindulges in this style.

RGV is back with a bang. There’s a certain consistency from start to end and this time, he gets the right subject to prove his detractors wrong. Every sequence bears the stamp of a genius that RGV is, hits and flops notwithstanding.

The performances are uniformly good. Sudeep impresses you with an excellent performance. Amruta Khanvilkar is efficient. Baby Ahsaas Channa makes a strong impression. Ashwini Kalsekar is top notch. Zakir Hussain’s tantric act is superb. Ganesh Yadav lends good support. K.K. Raina and Lilette Dubey, both doctors, are competent. Kenny Desai, Anu Ansari and the actress enacting the role of Sudeep’s mother are perfect.

Responding to a petition filed by veteran actor Manoj Kumar, a city civil court ordered actor Shah Rukh Khan and director Farah Khan to ensure that their film,  Om Shanti Om  , was aired on television only after the deletion of certain scenes to which Manoj Kumar had objected.

Manoj Kumar’s plea in court said he had taken offence to the manner in which he had been mimicked in the film, especially in a scene where a character, representing him, was shown trying to enter the premiere of a movie; the character was shooed away by guards and “even beaten with a stick”, Manoj Kumar had said.

The court ordered that the screening of the movie, slated for Sunday by Sony Entertainment Television , would be allowed only if the objectionable scene was deleted. The order also said all copies and screenings of the movie in future should be done without this scene.

Manoj Kumar said that just after the film had been released, he had objected to his depiction and Yash Chopra, who was mediating between director Farah Khan and Kumar, had apologized and assured him the scenes would be deleted. Manoj Kumar said the film’s telecast on television would further harm his reputation as more people would watch it at home than in theatres.

The court has also ordered that the objectionable scenes be deleted from all CDs and DVDs, the rights for which are with Eros International. SET Max said it would abide by the ruling. “We will completely abide by the court order and delete the scenes,” said Sneha Rajani, executive vice-president & business head of SET Max.
