Priyadarshan ,Irrfan Khan and SRK combo in BILLU BARBER

When talented actor Irrfan Khan was given a call by director Priyadarshan to act in Shah Rukh Khan’s home banner project, BILLU BARBER, the ace actor was prepared for a supporting role. In fact, Irrfan clearly remembers being pleasantly surprised to hear that it was SRK who was to play an extended cameo in the film and that he was the chosen one to play the main lead. Up till now, the films produced by Red Chillies Entertainment, starred the super star himself in the main lead and so Irrfan was looking forward to work with the Baadshah of Bollywood in a character role.

However, Shah Rukh and Priyadarshan had other plans and as it turned out, BILLU BARBER is the first mainstream commercial film, produced by a big banner, that will have Irrfan Khan enacting the title role, that of the lead protagonist.

Needless to add that Irrfan is very happy and rubbishes rumours that BILLU BARBER is an out-an-out SRK film. May be these rumours had stemmed from the fact that all the promos initially showcased SRK and his item numbers with the top actress of Bollywood. But that was a strategic promotional campaign, so as to highlight the film and popularize the album. The plan has already worked with the music hitting the charts and the film carrying quite a buzz. And we are supremely confident that the charisma of Bollywood’s global super star will succeed in bringing in the audience into the theatres, and the Priyan-Irrfan-SRK combo will do the rest!

Shahrukh-Deepika dance once again on Farah’s tunes

We know the King Khan, don’t we? He’s known to push hard when it comes to his work and especially his home productions that are literally treated as his babies, so obviously SRK’s much hyped ‘Billoo Barber’ is no exception and King Khan ain’t leaving a stone unturned this time round too.

‘Billoo Barber’ will see SRK coming together with the desirable Deepika Padukone once again for a special song that will be choreographed by none other than best friend, Farah Khan.

Director Priyadarshan is bringing together the successful trio of Farah Khan, Deepika Padukone and Shah Rukh Khan in hopes of repeating an ‘Om Shanti Om’ at the BO.

Hmmm… sounds like just the perfect thing to do, with Deepika hitting it big time with the audience, this is the least she can do for her mentor, isn’t it?

Rajni and SRK have been working on ‘Kuselan’ and ‘Billo Barber’

Rajni and Shah Rukh have been working on ‘Kuselan’ and ‘Billo Barber’, respectively. Both these films are adaptations of Malayalam film, ‘Katha Parayumpol’, starring Mammootty. Shah Rukh naturally wanted to release his film before Rajni. In fact, he was so keen that he even cancelled his annual family vacation and started shooting for ‘Billo Barber’. But it all seems to be in vain as Rajni’s film is ready and is all set to be released on August 15. Shah Rukh’s film, on the other hand, will hit the screens only by Diwali. P Vasu has directed ‘Kuselan’, while Priyadarshan is directing ‘Billo Barber’. The Malayalam original, tells the story of the friendship between a superstar, who goes to a village for a shoot, and a local barber. While Rajni and Shah Rukh Khan play the stars, Pasupathy and Irrfan Khan play the barbers. Adding to Shah Rukh woes is Akshay Kumar, whose film ‘Chandni Chowk To China,’ which is Warner Brothers’ first Hindi film, also releases around the same time.
