Bhootnath is the story of Banku- the son of Juhi Chawla and Shah Rukh Khan who shift to Goa to stay in Nath Villa, A house owned by Amitabh Bachchan before he dies. Amitabh Is Kailash Nath in the movie. He is haunting spirit after his death bcuz of some incomplete rituals that ae followed in Hindu culture after a person’s death.

He totally is averse on someone staying in his house which he has a lot of emotional attachment with. Everyone who comes there is scared to run away from there and never to turn and look back.

The ghost has the plan of scaring the family away. But he runs into the notorious nine-year-old Banku who mistakes the ghost as an angel and befriends him.
Thereby begin the funny antics of Banku and Bhoothnath. With a mere flick of his finger, Bhoothnath is able to do magical feats, and more so willingly at Banku’s command.

The story seems to go in circles as the film focuses on the adventures of the kid and the ghost until Bhoothnath’s past catches up with him. Thereon, the tongue-in-cheek humour of the film wisps out of the plot and melodrama comes in, and the movie becomes a tearjerker, though just partly effective.

‘Bhoothnath’ works mainly in the first half, when it’s funny. Writer-director Vivek Sharma fumbles in the second half, when he obviously feels a necessity to give a definite direction to the plot and veers the story into heavy melodrama reminiscent of films like Baghban .

However, the ever-reliable shoulders of Amitabh Bachchan carry ‘Bhoothnath’ above its deficiencies for the most part. Though there is nothing exceptional about the performance from Big B’s set standards, his charming persona and his comic timing wins you over yet again for the umpteenth time.

Child artist Aman Sidiqqui is no Darsheel Safary but the chubby kid does manage to hold his place opposite the Big B. Juhi Chawla is delightful even when she is over the top. Shah Rukh Khan is good except when he is dramatic and teary-eyed. Priyanshu Chatterjee , as Kedarnath’s estranged son, gets his few moments of acting as well.

The Sharma family does it for Bhootnath and his some also comes there realising his mistake, and finally the dissatisfied soul of Kailash Nath is freed, however he returns for Banku ending the film with a TO BE CONTINUED note.

Bhootnath is a good story, actually a very simple story said in a very simple way and that makes this film work. Bhootnath gathers pace from Big B’s entry and generates enough funny moments and intersting moments to keep the audience glued to thier seats.

Aman Siddiqui is a revelation. He too has given a great performance. Kids are doing well these days. The Chemistry between Him and Amitabh in the movie is top class.

Juhi is adequate and does well as always. Priyanshu is good in whatever it has been given to him. Rajpal Yadav is funny. SRK is irritating.

The movie has child artist Aman in a very important role, who befriends the ghost. Amitabh Bachchan has praises for the kid and believes that he has a lot of potential to so well.

It is not just that, there is a treat instore for the fans of Juhi Chawla who is playing an important role in the movie. Juhi is portraying the role of Aman’s mother.  All in all we can say that the film would be a different one and something to look forward to.

Bhootnath is directed by Vivek Sharma. The music of the film is composed by the Ta Ra Rum Pum duo Vishal-Shekhar. The film stars the two biggest superstars of Hindi Film Industry. Shah Rukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan.
Bachchan and SRK will hardly share any screen space, except for the climax sequence in the supernatural film. Apparently, mortal beings cannot see Bhootnath and so Amitabh will not be visible to Shahrukh Khan. This might be a conscious move on the part of the production house to avoid any friction between the actors.

Bhootnath comes across as a charismatic and endearing saga of friendship between a kid and a spirit. Shahrukh Khan and Juhi Chawla play a couple who move into their new house – the Nath Villa, in Goa, with their son Banku. Unfortunately, a ghost (Amitabh Bachchan) awaits them in the house, who is not happy with his new companions.

Shahrukh Khan plays a Navy officer in the film, certain sequences needed to be shot on a ship. And recently, when the luxury cruise liner Superstar Libra docked at Mumbai, SRK gave a day for the shooting of Chopra’s film aboard the ship.

‘Bhootnath’ also has Amitabh Bachchan in the role of a ghost. SRK and Big B do not have any scenes together in the film.

Even director Ravi Chopra and Big B appreciated the idea of asking the little champs to croon for their film. The Lil Champs were called earlier this week for recording the song. This was just the beginning and their joy knew no bounds when Big B, impressed with their singing, offered to hold an exclusive screening of Bhootnath especially for the kids on January 30, 2008.

Big B is getting ready to unleash three flicks aimed predominantly at kids.Apart from Alladin, there is Ravi Chopra’s Bhootnath and Rumi Jaffrey’s God, Tussi Great Ho where he plays a ghost and God, respectively.

Offering away presents appears to be a achieving tendency in bollywood . Shah Rukh Khan himself had offered him a present obstruct to each actor who were featured in the movie Om Shanti Om’s title song. Salman Khan offered a lavishness car to Govinda for his performance in the movie Partner .

But, let us see how the movie Bhoothnath will job at the box office. Finally, the present for Shahrukh Khan depends on it.

If that not all SRK even gifted the Big B some DVD’s of latest games, also they even indulged in a general knowledge game called Trivial Pursuit, where SRK was the official quiz master. By the looks of it the Khan and Bachchan war is finally coming to an end.

Bhootnath is a story about a grandfather’s ghost which appeared in his grandson. Amitabh Bachchan portrait the character of Bhootnath and Juhi Chawla played the role of the child’s widowed mother and Shahrukh khan will be in the role of her husband. Big B plays a ghost in Sharma’s film. “I’ve sung a rap song for Vishal-Shekhar for my ghost’s character in Bhootnath and another rap song for my djinn’s character in Alladdin. Plus I recorded a soft lyrical number for Bhootnath. As soon as I return I’ll record one more song for Alladin.”

Vishal-Shekhar who’ve composed this carnival of crooning for the Big B, have been working on a non-film album of Abhishek Bachchan’s hip-hop for producer Rohan Sippy for the last one year. That too will have singing inputs from the senior Bachchan.

Come 18th January and Ravi Chopra produced “Bhootnath” would hit the screens. Directed by debutant Vivek Sharma the film stars Amitabh Bachchan in the title role with Shahrukh Khan in a special appearance. The film also stars Juhi Chawla.

After one week Hrithik and Salman are expected to clash with their “Jodha Akbar” and “Mera Bharat Manaan” coming together.
