She may one of Bollywood’s most famous faces internationally, but before Shilpa Shetty’s overnight fame and fortune in UK’s ‘Big Brother’ – let’s not forget that Shilpa didn’t excatly have the most stellar of acting careers. Which is what led her to the Big Brother house in the first place.

And while she may now have her own broadway show, her own perfume and is the patron saint against racial abuse – at one stage Shilpa was ‘auto shankar’ Shilpa. Not getting the jist ? Maybe this will help to jog your memory – way back in 2005, before international fame and fortune beckoned, Shilpa starred in a film down south called ‘Auto Shankar’ in which Shilpa plays an scrupulous don who ends up reforming herself through the power of love.

The film was a humungous hit in the south and even earned Shilpa the title of ‘Gabbar of the South’.

But hit or no hit, we are pretty sure that this is one body of work Shilpa would rather have left in her past. Unfortunately for Shilpa that doesn’t seem meant to be, as the producers of the film have now decided to re-release the film this time in Hindi and the film is going to be retitled ‘Shilpa the Big Don‘.

The hitch is that while the producers seem to have gone ahead with their plans of ‘Shilpa the Don’ in Hindi, they seem to have left out one very important detail; getting permission from Shilpa herself to redub her lines in Hindi and also to cash in on her name for the title.

But in what they hope is probably a conciliatory gesture the filmmakers have called named two songs in the film after Shilpa as well. So what action is Shilpa now planning to take?
