Sanjay Dutt get the bail from Supreme Court
Sanjay Dutt along with 16 other convicts in the 1992-93 blasts case in Mumbai were granted bail by the Supreme Court on the common parameter that those convicts who have already spent half the period of the sentence awarded to them are eligible for bail. During the last hearing, the court claimed that it may consider granting bail to those convicts whose crime had a less serious nature in the 1992-93 blasts case.
Sanjay Dutt is currently imprisoned at Yerwada jail in Pune and his actual release may take 2-3 days due to legal formalities. Sanjay Dutt has earlier spent around 21 days in prison before, he was granted bail on the technicality of not receiving a copy of the judgment , several others too were granted bail for this reason.
However after he received a copy of the judgment, Sanjay Dutt once again surrendered before the court . Sanjay was then hoping to get bail before Diwali so that he could be with his family on the festive occasion. But he was not granted bail before Diwali and had to spend it in jail. Dutt has also spent around 18 months in prison earlier, he has already completed around one-fourth f his six year term.
