Vivek Agnihotri’s football-based film “Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal”  sounds suspiciously similar to an English film called   We Are Marshall   that deals with the same sport.   We Are Marshalls   is based on a real life tragic plane crash of 1975 that killed the entire Marshall University football team aboard it which sent shockwaves throughout United Kingdom. The only player who survives the crash wants to build up a team for their next big match.

He finds a coach and builds up a team. The protagonist gets a lot of opposition but he fights it out along with the coach. This resembles the plotline of   Goal   which too has Arshad Warsi as the survivor and Boman Irani as the team coach. Both the films are about a team that is completely washed out but makes a comeback.
