Mani Ratnam must really have a special screening for Mukesh Ambani. First it was because of AB JR that he wanted to see the film. Now he wants to see it because of Arya Babbar. He plays Aishwarya Rai’s brother in the film. Speculations are rife that Aishwarya is portraying the Ambanis’ mother Kokilaben, so Arya is portraying Kokilaben’s brother in the film, who plays a crucial role in the family but with a tinge of negativism to the character.

Arya admitted, “It’s true, Mukesh Ambani wants to see the film and also my character. I respect him, he’s a sincere person who is completely focused on his work. I too, am like him. I can’t tell you much about the role or the film as there’s a clause, we can’t reveal anything about the film. It feels good to know that a person like Mukesh Ambani wants to see my character.”

Arya had auditioned for another role, but was rejected as he looked young and they needed an older guy for the role. Then Arya went to audition for Ash’s brother’s role in Chennai and was selected to play the role.
